Frequently Asked Questions
What is a retro-fit window?
A retro-fit window is a window that is custom made to fit into an existing opening without any stucco or drywall damage therefore, you do not need to worry about any additional cost of patching and painting.
How long does the installation take?
An average size window can be installed in about one hour. A sliding glass doors usually takes about three hours. French doors and front entry doors can take a little longer depending on the size and option of Interior and exterior casings.
How are they energy efficient?
Low-E glass, (short for Low emissivity) is a special coating that is applied to the inside of the double pane glass which is estimated to reduce approx. 85-90% of the harmful U.V. rays of the sun from entering your home. On the inside it helps maintain the temperature so whether you are using your A/C unit or heater it will not escape through the glass keeping the inside climate steady to your comfort level.
How do they reduce noise from outside?
The air space in between the two panes of glass is filled with Argon Gas (Non Toxic and safe). Argon Gas is an excellent source of covering ant dead air space and acting as an extra wall of protection between the inside and outside of your windows. When the air space in between the two panes of glass is filled, it becomes much more difficult for noise to travel through that air space and therefore it reduces the amount of noise traveling to the inside of your home. In addition to noise reduction values, Argon Gas also increases the energy efficiency of your windows by acting as an extra barrier between the outside and inside of your home.
